Sunrise Treatment Center is a substance abuse treatment program focusing primarily on opioid use disorders. It has offices located in Hamilton County Ohio, an office in Middletown opening in March 2018, and an office in Dayton opening later in 2018. This privately-owned program provides treatment for opioid use disorders through outpatient medication assisted treatment. Services include medical/somatic, individual counseling, group counseling, urinalysis, case management, intensive outpatient and crisis intervention.
Sunrise started in 2007 as Dr. Jeffrey Bill’s private practice where he provided Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT). After several years, he became determined to build his practice into a proper treatment program that would provide the psychosocial support he knew was needed for achieving the treatment outcomes of which he believed medication assisted treatment was capable.
In April 2012, Steven Smith joined Sunrise and developed it into an Outpatient Alcohol and Drug Addiction Program.
In the summer of 2013, Sunrise transitioned to Ohio’s first buprenorphine-only Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP). This allowed increased access to services and a more comprehensive approach to treatment. This was quickly followed by initiating the acceptance of Ohio Medicaid for payment for services.
In July 2015, Sunrise opened an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), adding an additional level of care. This allowed for continuing treatment with patients who were not a good fit or appropriate for non-intensive outpatient treatment.
In April 2016, Sunrise opened a second location in Forest Park, OH. This facility was built to manage at capacity a census of 500 patients.
On July 21, 2017, the corporate office and treatment center moved from Bridgetown to the current location in Dent on Harrison Ave.
April 2, 2018 the Middletown treatment center on North Breiel opened to see patients.
Our next site is the Dayton office off Edwin Moses Blvd, across the highway from UD Arena. We anticipate this office opening near the end of 2018.
