Sunrise was proud to host Congressman Warren Davidson at our new office located in Springfield. After a tour of the facility, we were able to discuss important topics, such as his H.R. 8561 bill proposed to address human trafficking and increasing funds to address the opioid epidemic.

Sunrise is proud to be celebrating the second anniversary of our B Corp certification! Since joining the ranks of other companies using business as a force for good, we have expanded our efforts in environmental, community-based, patient-centered, and employee-focused activities.

This past weekend, Sunrise participated in the Cincinnati PRIDE Festivities celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community (pictured above). We also participated in PRIDE activities in Northern Kentucky and Dayton. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the staff and community organizers who made these events possible! This month was also an opportunity to reflect on the barriers those in the LGBTQIA+ community face on a daily basis. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse and surveys conducted by the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, LGBTQIA+ individuals often enter treatment with more severe substance use disorders. At Sunrise, we want our patients and staff to know that they are seen, heard, loved, and supported.

Sunrise was able to donate 717 pounds of food to the Athens County Food Pantry, which translates to over 600 meals for families in Athens County! Donations to the relief fund were matched by Sunrise resulting in additional donations to the fund. A special thanks to the Athens County Food Pantry, Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund, and our generous employees!

Recently, Sunrise was gifted a drawing from Hana Ghobril (10th grade, William Mason High School), who is the daughter of one of our Medical Directors (Nabil Ghobril, MD, CAS).

Sunrise was proud to meet with Sheriff McGuffey, Major Ems, and Mary Carol from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s office at our new OTR location earlier this week. We had productive conversations about the current state of the opioid epidemic, and the ways that the sheriff’s office is helping to combat it. Coordination and collaboration are essential to a comprehensive approach to solve this issue. We look forward to working with Sheriff McGuffey and members of her team on this important goal.

We were honored to welcome Commissioner Denise Driehaus to our newest location in Over-the-Rhine. Bringing more services to this area was important to us because of the ongoing need in that community and the surrounding area.
